C\'s Lose Again

After roaring to a 8-1 start, the Boston Celtics have returned to earth and lost back-to-back games this weekend. I have always been a proponent of the importance of early season losses. Don\’t get me wrong, wins are wins, and the more the better, obviously, but in order to be a championship team, a team has to grow together and build chemistry through facing adversity. With the addition of Rasheed Wallace, there is a period of adjustment to his style of play and skill set.

All that being said, already it appears that the C\’s are playing well together and are sharing the rock with extreme effectiveness. Six players are averaging 10+ points per game and even in tonight\’s loss to Indiana, five players finished with double-digit scoring numbers. An even more impressive and important stat is that the team is averaging nearly 26 assists per game, nearly 8 more assists per game than their opponents. As the team becomes more and more comfortable together, they will continue to improve as a unit and are poised to make a deep run in the playoffs and hopefully raised banner number 18 to the Garden rafters.Anything can happen in a NBA season, and there is still a long way to go.
