When reviewing the Sox top prospects, one name always filters to the top: Ryan Westmoreland. The 19-year old outfielder had an excellent 2009 campaign in Lowell hitting .296 with 7 HR’s, 35 RBI, and 19 stolen bases in only 60 games. The trouble for Westmoreland came when he fractured his collarbone after running into the wall tracking down a fly ball in late August.
